Health Declarations

Please note that due to the physical nature of some of our courses, learners will have to complete Health Declarations prior to the course commencement:

  • Prevention, Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA)/Breakaway
  • Manual Handling
  • Basic Life Support

Please be aware that all learners on PMVA 3 and 5 Day Courses will have to verify that there are no changes to their completed health declaration each day. If any changes are stated then a new health declaration will be requested to be completed by the learner and the declaration reassessed by the course Tutor.

IMPORTANT: NO PREGNANT AT ANY STAGE OF PREGNANCY LEARNERS MAY ATTEND OUR PHYSICAL INTERVENTION COURSES.

Pre-Course Requirements

Please note that our refresher courses are just that a “refresher” of training – for our refresher BLS, ILS, Manual Handling and PMVA/Breakaway candidates should have attended a full course of these subjects previously and maintained their refresher training annually.

Please ensure that all candidates are aware of the dress code requirements (the learners are notified in their e-mail of this):

Suitable Clothing to wear is:

  • Light, loose and comfortable.
  • Trainers/closed in soft footwear
  • Jogging Bottoms or Comfortable trousers.

What is NOT permitted:

  • Belts
  • Any Jewellery (except Wedding rings or articles related to faith maybe taped up)
  • High Heels
  • Open toed shoes/Sandals
  • Jeans
  • To do the course bare footed
  • Long artificial or natural fingernails
  • Hair should be tied back
  • Skirts are not recommended due to the nature of the course
