Welcome to our CSTF - Paediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS) Level 1 & 2 online Training. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate of completion. The course duration is approximately 1 hour and will earn you 1 CPD point. You have 6 months from the date of purchase to finish this training.

1. Summoning immediate emergency help for paediatric Basic Life Support (BLS)
2. Starting CPR with chest compressions.
3. Locating and operating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
4. Understand national guidelines and local resuscitation policies.
5. Recognise and respond to patients with clinical deterioration or cardiorespiratory arrest.
6. Initiate an appropriate emergency response.
7. Providing Basic airway management


The learning outcomes are:

1. Recognition and initial assessment of an unresponsive child or infant.
2. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques for children and infants, including chest compressions, rescue breaths, and use of resuscitation masks or bag-valve masks.
3. Management of choking in children and infants.
4. Use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for children and infants.
5. Recognition and management of respiratory emergencies, such as asthma or allergic reactions.
6. Recognition and management of cardiac emergencies, such as cardiac arrest or arrhythmias.
7. Recognition and management of seizures in children and infants.
8. Recognition and management of anaphylactic shock in children and infants.
9. Administration of basic life-saving medications, such as epinephrine for anaphylaxis.
10. Communication and teamwork skills during a paediatric emergency.

Requirements:
It is necessary to complete 35 hours (35 Nursing CPD Points) of relevant CPD within the three-year period since your last registration renewal or since joining the register.
