Welcome to our CSTF. Safeguarding Children (Levels 1 & 2) online training. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate of completion. The course duration is approximately 1 hour and will earn you 1 CPD point. You have 6 months from the date of purchase to finish this training.


This module covers various topics related to CSTF. Safeguarding Children (Levels 1 & 2) online training module:



1. Introduction to Safeguarding Children Online
• Understanding the importance of safeguarding children in the digital age in the UK

2. Child Maltreatment and Indicators
• Definition and forms of child maltreatment (physical, emotional, sexual abuse, neglect) in the uk
• Identifying signs and indicators of child maltreatment in the uk
• Recognizing grooming and exploitation for radicalization purposes in the uk

3. Recognizing and Responding to Specific Risks
• Awareness of child trafficking, FGM, forced marriage, modern slavery, gang and electronic media abuse, sexual exploitation, and county lines .
• Understanding the signs and indicators of these risks.
• Knowing how to respond and refer appropriately .

4. Risks and Safety in the Digital World
• Understanding the risks associated with the internet and online social networking .
• Promoting responsible online behavior and digital citizenship .

5. Vulnerable Groups and Special Considerations
• Identifying vulnerabilities in looked after children, children with disabilities, unaccompanied children, care leavers, and young carers .
• Recognizing the specific risks and challenges they may face online .
• Taking appropriate action to safeguard these vulnerable groups.

6. Impact of Parent/Carer Physical and Mental Health
• Understanding the impact of parental physical and mental health on child wellbeing .
• Recognizing the signs of domestic abuse, violence, and substance misuse.
• Knowing how to support and safeguard children in these situations .

7. Children's Rights in Safeguarding .
• Understanding the importance of children's rights in the context of safeguarding and child protection .

8. Action and Reporting Procedures
• Knowing what action to take if concerns arise .
• Identifying the appropriate authorities to report concerns .
• Seeking advice and support from relevant professionals .

9. Legislation and Legal Responsibilities
• Familiarizing with relevant legislation (Children Acts 1989, 2004, Children and Social Work Act 2017, Sexual Offences Act 2003, and equivalent Acts for Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales)
• Understanding legal responsibilities in safeguarding children online.

10. Identification and Referral of Victims
• Identifying and referring children suspected of being victims of trafficking and/or sexual exploitation .
• Recognizing the signs and symptoms of victimization .
• Understanding mandatory reporting duties, including FGM reporting.



The learning outcomes are.

1. Understand the different forms of child maltreatment (physical, emotional, sexual abuse, neglect) and identify signs and indicators of child abuse or neglect.
2. Recognize the potential indicators of grooming and exploitation for radicalization purposes.
3. Be aware of the risks associated with child trafficking, female genital mutilation (FGM), forced marriage, modern slavery, gang and electronic media abuse, sexual exploitation, and county lines.
4. Understand the risks associated with the internet and online social networking and promote online safety for children and young people.
5. Identify vulnerabilities and specific risks faced by looked after children, children with disabilities, unaccompanied children, care leavers, and young carers, and take appropriate action to safeguard them.
6. Understand the impact of a parent's/carer's physical and mental health on the wellbeing of a child or young person and recognize the signs of domestic abuse, violence, and substance misuse.
7. Recognize the importance of children's rights in the context of safeguarding and child protection.
8. Know what action to take if they have concerns, including reporting concerns to the appropriate authorities and seeking advice from relevant professionals.
9. Understand relevant legislation, including the Children Acts 1989, 2004, Children and Social Work Act 2017, Sexual Offences Act 2003, and equivalent Acts for Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales.
10. Identify and refer children suspected of being victims of trafficking and/or sexual exploitation, including adhering to mandatory reporting duties.

Nursing and Midwife Council's (CPD Points).

Requirements:
It is necessary to complete 35 hours (35 Nursing CPD Points) of relevant CPD within the three-year period since your last registration renewal or since joining the register.
Of these 35 hours (35 Nursing CPD Points), a minimum of 20 hours (20 Nursing CPD Points), should be dedicated to participatory learning, which involves engaging in activities that facilitate interaction with other professionals.
