• Definition: raising a concern about anything that gets in the way of delivering safe, high-quality care

• NHS Duty of Candour
• Public Interest Disclosure Act (whistleblowing protection)

3. Barriers to Speaking Up
• Fear of retaliation or being ignored
• Lack of awareness of policies
• Hierarchical culture
• Emotional challenges and peer pressure

4. How to Raise a Concern
• Steps for raising concerns: informal discussion, line manager, Freedom to Speak Up Guardian, escalation routes
• Documenting your concern

5. Role of the Freedom to Speak Up Guardian
• Who they are and what they do
• How to contact them
