The 2015 International Safety Awards have officially been launched by the British Safety Council. They are designed to not only promote good health and safety practices, but also highlight those organisations which go above and beyond in making sure both employees and members of the public are safe.
Over 524 organisations, from a range of sectors in countries around the world, won an International Safety Award last year, including UK household names such as British Gas and Wessex Water. The British Safety Council chief executive, Alex Botha, said health and safety was an important aspect that can improve the lives of people as well as businesses.
He said: “The British Safety Council’s vision is that no one should be injured or made ill at work – anywhere in the world; and the prestigious International Safety Awards seek to recognise and reward those organisations that have shown a real commitment and dedication to keeping their workplaces and workers healthy and safe.”
Next year will be the 57th year the awards have been running for, cementing their position as one of the most important awards for excellence in health and safety.
