Are you an avid gym goer and at the gym every day religiously or are you a more relaxed every week or two goer?
Research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association has found that people who fill up all their exercise sessions at the weekend are seen to benefit nearly as much as those who work out frequently.
Over 60,000 adults across England and Scotland were studied and found that people who worked out one or two sessions at the weekend lowered their risk of death by a similar rate of those who worked out the same amount over the length of a week.
As many people live busy lives it can be hard to fit in an exercise regime so these findings will reassure people that working out once or twice week can beneficial in keeping healthy.
It is recommended by the National Health Service to prevent an early death people should be performing 150 minutes a week on moderate exercise or 75 minutes a week doing vigorous exercise.
