Mental health training promises to help members of Derby’s Indian community suffering from mental health conditions, reaching out to vulnerable members of the community and helping to give them support if needed.
Derbyshire Mind worked with the local NHS trust, Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the Indian Community Centre SEWA group to offer training in both English and Punjabi to volunteers, teaching them common symptoms of mental health problems and where advice/treatment can be given if necessary.
The training was done on the 18th and 25th July, with certificates given for the successful completion of the course by Derby City Council leader Councillor Ranjit Banwait.
